Hi guys!

The other day, I was thinking about what to write for my next Substack, and I thought—why not dive into the kitchen tools I absolutely swear by? As someone who’s been cooking for my family for over 20 years, I feel like I can give you an honest perspective on which kitchen tools are truly worth your time and money. So, here we go!

I’ve had the honor of working with Giada De Laurentiis on several occasions—I’ve always been such a huge fan of hers! I watched all her cooking shows, and yes, I own almost every single one of her cookbooks. Every time we worked together, I tried to soak up as much cooking inspiration as I could while doing her makeup. I remember one conversation in particular about kitchen tools that really stuck with me. She said, “Most households have way too many kitchen tools. You really only need a few, and if you’re smart, you’ll make sure they’re high quality.”

She specifically mentioned that you don’t need an air fryer—you can use a Le Creuset Dutch oven for everything, from slow cooking in the oven to so much more than you’d think.

That completely changed the way I think about my kitchen setup. I’ve come to believe that you don’t need a ton of gadgets, just a few really high-quality tools that will last. It’s also super important to declutter your kitchen every so often—just like you would your wardrobe or makeup bag. A well-organized kitchen, where everything has its place, makes cooking so much more enjoyable. I even trained my family to do the same, and now we all know exactly where everything is—haha!
