Hi everyone,
This week, I want to share my timeless beauty rituals. It can feel overwhelming opening social media to endless tools and products promoting some sort of physical change. Whether it's a cream that supposedly reverses aging (let’s be honest, it’s just not possible) or a mask that promises to erase your eye bags. It’s tough being a woman and feeling like there’s always some kind of improvement to be made.
I want to emphasize the message that “beauty comes from within.” I know it sounds like a cliché, but it’s true. I feel most beautiful when I’m healthy and happy. I truly glow after a good workout and a love-filled meal with my family. I also feel this way when I practice enhancing my natural beauty through these five rituals. What I love about these at-home beauty rituals is that they’re attainable, simple, natural, and give me time to relax and reconnect with myself.
The Benefits:
Exfoliation
Stimulates the lymphatic system
Increased circulation and blood flow
Let’s talk about dry brushing. This ritual has become a staple in my daily routine. I find it so relaxing and absolutely incredible for my skin. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed my skin becoming drier or drying out more easily, and this practice consistently keeps my skin exfoliated and smooth.
I dry brush every day before I get into the shower, always brushing toward the heart. I start from my feet and brush up to my thighs, and from my hands to the tops of my arms. For my stomach, I like to use clockwise circular motions. It’s also important not to press too hard with the brush, as it can be abrasive. I typically do this for about 3-5 minutes.
After I’ve dry brushed and showered, I make sure to moisturize my skin with the MBB Body Oil. The natural botanicals smell beautiful, and the effects are so calming. I’ve always preferred moisturizing with oil over cream—it feels extra hydrating and gives the skin the most stunning glow.
