How I created Kate Hudson's look for the Fashion Trust Awards

Hi everybody! Hope you're all having a great week—I’m so happy that it’s Friday, my favorite day of the week! If you're not already following me on Instagram, I posted a makeup look I did on my client Kate Hudson about two weeks ago for the Fashion Trust Awards. I had the honor of doing her makeup that evening, and she looked absolutely stunning in a beautiful off-white dress. It was simple yet edgy, with two bows that added this unique touch.

I often get asked how I decide what kind of makeup to do based on a dress, and it’s always a collaborative process between the talent, stylist, and hairstylist. We all bring our ideas to the table and then work together. For Kate’s look, I suggested a bold red lip, while keeping the rest of the face simple with beautiful, glowing, fresh skin. I wanted her to look young, confident, and current!
